About

The Monroe Cotton Mills is an integral part of the fabric of Monroe Georgia.  Founded and started in 1895 the mill actively operated and manufactured textiles for more than 90 years.  A local family bought the shuttered mill from Avondale Mills in 2008 to save it from demolition.  Since that time the mill has undergone extensive renovations, restorations and rehabilitation to turn the property into a functional mixed-use modern facility all the while maintaining its historic character, ambience and charm.  Today the Mill serves home to a variety of uses and businesses from a church to two large antique malls, from a CrossFit gym to a woodshop.  More than 120 years since it was built the Monroe Cotton Mills stands today as History.  Revived.
